The Journey of Arita

Planned a storybook for typeface Arita, a corporate typeface that has developed over the past 16 years. I started the The Journey of Arita project in 2013 at AG Typography Institute and completed at Ahn Graphics.

Through this project, I Interviewed participants, curated the manuscript, and directed the entire design process for the Arita typeface storybook. Section 1, Arita Diction, shares a philanthropic and aesthetic philosophy that can be seen through their various technique fonts and how they distribute them to the public at no charge. Additionally, characteristics of the font include shapes by 19 headwords as seen similarly in a dictionary format. The Arita concludes in section 2, Arita Writing, with interviews from those who contributed to the project throughout the sixteen year journey.
